When is the best time to lay sod in Katy?
Spring through early fall, while St. Augustine is actively growing and can root quickly. Sod laid in winter sits dormant and takes longer to establish.
How often should I water new sod?
Keep it consistently moist for the first couple of weeks, which often means watering every day in Katy heat, then taper off as the roots take hold. We leave you a watering schedule for your yard.
When can I mow new sod?
Once it has rooted, usually two to three weeks in warm weather. If you tug a corner and it holds, it is ready for its first light mow.
Do you fix drainage before laying sod?
Yes. Grading comes first, so water runs away from the house instead of pooling on new grass. If the yard needs more than grading, we quote drainage work separately and itemized.
